Homemade Dumpling Sauce

Some people are content with dipping their dumplings in soya sauce and there are others (like myself) who love an extra oomph to their meal. Here is a simple homemade dumpling sauce recipe that will convert you from the first type of person into the second.

What Ingredients Do I Need?

  • Garlic: You can mince, dice or slice your garlic.
  • Soya sauce: The base to this sauce
  • Vinegar: We love some tang
  • Sugar: And we love some sweetness
  • Chili oil: You can also substitute for chili flakes
  • Water: To dilute your sauce a little (and to dissolve the sugar)
  • Green onions (optional): Chop up a few sprigs and add
  • Sesame seeds (optional): Toast them for a little extra oomf

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 2 tbsp soya sauce

  • 1 tbsp white/rice vinegar

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp chili oil/chili flakes

  • 1 tbsp chopped green onions

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

  • 3 tbsp water

Directions

  • Start my chopping, grating, mincing, or slicing your garlic cloves.
  • Add your garlic to a bowl.
  • Now add your vinegar, sugar and water.
  • Stir well to dissolve the sugar.
  • Now add the rest of your ingredients and mix well to combine.
  • Your dumpling sauce is ready.
